Remember last.fm Streaming Radio?
If anyone here uses last.fm, you may remember that once upon a time, in a better world, last.fm had free streaming radio. Type in the name of an artist or a genre and you’d find a ton of artists similar to what you originally typed in. It was awesome. I found so much music through that. And then they took it away.
Since then, I’ve been trying to find alternatives. Yes, there is Pandora and Spotify, but both don’t work up here in Canada (thank you RIAA, you bastards), and then there’s the issue of scrobbling to last.fm itself.
I finally found an alternative to last.fm, and while it’s no replacement, it’s a start: Slacker Radio. Right out of the box, it does not scrobble your tracks, but there’s a trick to get it to do so. It’s called lastslacker, and while it’s not pretty, it gets the job done. In a matter of minutes I’ve already begun finding awesome new music. Check it out if you’re into that stuff. Otherwise, carry on.
Oh yeah, I should mention that it’s also free.

Water damage in the shower? Bring it. I’ve got a plastic bag.
‘nuff MW2 today. But that’s not all that occured today. Found Slacker Radio, a great replacement for everyone that used to use last.fm radio. Otherwise, not much else. kristothetopher, the garage is looking emptier by the day. Get your stuff ready for the garage LOL

The first time I saw this commercial I thought it was too sick. Most of IBM’s “Smarter Planet” commercials are really well done.
1997: Microsoft Bails Out Apple
It’s an interesting read into people’s perceptions of the computer industry as a whole at that time.

Time well spent.
Sunday: Church, lunch, chill. Ran a lot of MW2 today for the first time (yeah, that’s right, I don’t play MW2 much lateryears) and even got the garage cleaned up quite a bit. The eventual goal is to be able to comfortably fit two cars in there, along with all of the various paraphernalia that kristothetopher would like to leave in my garage.

Didn’t originally intend for this shot to turn out with bokeh, but that’s what I ended up with.
In Brantford for UFC 114. kristothetopher and ajaeee, I finally satisfied that craving for watermelon. Not too much else otherwise, except Rampage deserved to lose UFC 114 for screwing up so badly.
Took this shot on the way back, on the Gardiner Express near the DVP. Also, I’m a day late posting this because I passed out as soon as we got home.

Exchanged the ones from yesterday for better RC choppers.
Woke up mad early and ended up with kristothetopher, ajaeee, and Josh at Markville to find new RC choppers that perform somewhat better. Instead, we ended up running around to a bunch of Toys R Us locations. And then the day got random. Exchanged cars for Kobe’s very asian car. In the words of kristothetopher: “Why is it staring it me?!” That resulted in being stuck at the body shop for a few hours, which eventually lead to time to screw around with those helicopters. Pretty randomly awesome day.

Pretty damn good impulse buy.
So, in the effort to return Josh’s phone in a creative manner, kristothetopher and I decided to pull a 686 classic joke present. We also decided to get Josh an RC helicopter. Turns out that they were on sale, so we bought some for ourselves too. Didn’t even realize how fast the time went by because these things are a ton of fun. Also, screw you Ron Artest. Screw you.

“Why the hell is Josh’s phone in my bag?!”
The caption and picture should be self explanatory. Thanks kristothetopher. Also, it was too hot today.

Me, upon the discovery that someone left a landline handset in my bag on Monday. It is now Wednesday. That’s three days.

I could do BBQ food for the rest of the summer. Deadliest Warrior was awesome, and the Suns are killing the Lakers. This is a good day.

Last day in Oshawa, and we ended up back in Toronto in the afternoon. Massive nap, and the cousins dropped by. Tomorrow? 686.

Day Two of Oshawa. Ended up at Marble Slab, amongst other places. Pretty intense day. Also, I should never play basketball in jeans again. Ever.

Ghetto road trip
Drove up to Oshawa today with some friends for the weekend. That car that we used was older than all of us. To be honest, when I first saw it I thought: “Oh crap. We are going to end up stuck on the highway because this clunker is going to break down.” I was wrong. For a car that looks like it’s barely held together, it can go fast.

OJ on the rocks.
Today was HOT. As such, cold drinks, ice cream, and pretty much anything that had the potential to lower one’s body temperature was busted out in an attempt to stay cool. Also, got some plumbing done in the garage that we wanted to get done for a while. Weekend in Oshawa should be fun.
